SAN MARCOS PROFILE

San Marcos is located between Austin and San Antonio at the edge of the Texas Hill Country along the sparkling San Marcos River.

Whether camping in the serene countryside or swimming and tubing in the gentle current of the river, outdoor recreation is a major attraction.

Some of the best shopping in the southwest is here in the historic downtown district and the largest factory outlet malls to be found in Texas. San Marcos is the home of Texas State University.
