| Measure of how cold it is relative to 65 degrees. Relates temperature to the demands | ||||
| of a/c. Calculated as the number of degrees that a day's average temperature | ||||
| (high + low / 2) is below 65. | ||||
| Example: On June 20 in Bellingham, the day's high was 72 and low was 50. The | ||||
| average temperature was 61 meaning June 20 had 4 heating degree days. | ||||
| Cooling Degree Days (CDD) | ||||
| Measure of how hot it is relative to 65 degrees. Relates temperature to the demands | ||||
| of heating a residence. Calculated as the number of degrees that a day's average | ||||
| temperature (high + low / 2) is above 65. | ||||
