CHAPEL HILL PROFILE


Chapel Hill was founded in 1819 to serve the University of North Carolina and grew up around it.

The university, the oldest state school in the country, is well known for its academic and sports programs and is an integral part of the town's culture.

Chapel Hill forms one-third of the Research Triangle Park which includes cities Durham (Duke University) and Raleigh (North Carolina State).
